Can I work directly with a foreign contractor?
Yes, you can work directly with a foreign contractor, but in order to have legal, stable, and long-term relationship you will need to invest into operations with foreign countries and take the risks:
- You need to verify that a foreign contractor is authorized to work in their country and receive payments for their services.
- You need to research how to properly prepare contract agreements to allow a foreign contractor receive money for the work onto their foreign bank account. Different countries have different requirements including (and not limited to) preparing an agreement in a local language.
- You need to research the rules of international payroll and tax reporting. You cannot issue a 1099 Form.
